Learn Georgian from real Georgians.
Georgian has been written for 1,500 years and is still spoken on every street in Tbilisi. Kakhi teaches it the way people really speak: real, short videos from Georgian creators, with Georgian subtitles, romanization and English.

Named after a proud Georgian grandpa.
Kakhi (კახი) is a Georgian name, and the app carries it for one. In the app he is a cheeky tamada: he pulls up a chair, pours a toast for your first hundred words and never lets you leave without one more.
გაუმარჯოს! gaumarjos: cheers, "to victory"

Questions
Is Kakhi free?
Yes. Watching is always free, with no account. Free also gives you 5 word look-ups a day, learning mode on 3 videos a day and the home-screen widgets, with ads. Premium removes the limits and the ads.
Do I need to read the Georgian alphabet first?
No. Every Georgian word has romanization over it (the official national system) and every line has English under it, so you can start today and read Mkhedruli on your own little by little.
Is it for complete beginners?
Yes. Videos have levels 1 to 3, set by how common their words are, so you can start with the easiest ones. They are real Georgians talking at real speed, so the English under every line does a lot of the work at first.
Where do the videos come from?
Short videos by Georgian YouTube creators: cooking, markets, travel, family and everyday talk. They play in YouTube's own player and belong to their creators. A creator can have a video removed at plyerstudios.com/kakhi/takedown.
Whose voice says the words?
Kakhi's voice is computer-generated: a Georgian voice that says every word in the library, slowly too if you like. The people in the videos are real.
What if a subtitle is wrong?
Tap Report a mistake, one tap away in the app. Fixes ship in the next update.
How much is Premium, and how do I cancel?
€39.99 a year (€3.33 a month), €6.99 a month, or €99 once for life. New subscribers get 7 days free. Prices are set locally: in Georgia and many nearby countries Premium costs less. Google Play shows your price in your currency, and you cancel any time in Google Play, before the trial ends if you don't want to pay.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet, but it's coming. Kakhi is on Android 8.0 or newer for now. Leave your email on this page and you'll get one email the day it's on iPhone. Videos stream, so it needs the internet.
Videos play in YouTube's player and belong to their creators. Kakhi's voice is computer-generated. See a mistake in a subtitle? "Report a mistake" is one tap away in the app.
